Anyone who has wondered exactly what MasterCard’s Paypass specification looks like may soon find out. The word on the street is that they have submitted it to EMVCo as a potential standard for contactless payments and it is therefore likely to become public domain within a few months. Has anyone else heard this?

  1. Hi,
I’m pretty puzzled by that post, as it happened that we just signed an NDA some months ago with MC, asked for the specs and got them.
Where it went wrong for us is that if I got it well, we were after the U.S. version and got the EMV one. So you should be able to get that spec as well right away…
Or did I missed something ?
    Kind regards,
    Bruno.

  2. presumably if it’s available as an open standard there will be no need for an NDA. It certainly isn’t available to just anyone at present
