Much has been made of the rise in card not present fraud during 2005 in the UK, as other types of card fraud tumble. However the figure for cnp fraud over the Internet stayed static. That means that the rise was entirely in mail order and telephone order fraud which has almost doubled since 2004.

This must be because there’s no Verified by Visa or SecureCode for higher-risk mail-order and telephone-order merchant?
It would certainly suggest that those systems are effective
